"Over and over again in the Scriptures, the Bible tells us or shows us pictures of ordinary people who have extraordinary encounters with God as a result of their willingness to take risks. It's all about taking risks and moving out of your comfort zone -- maybe singing a little bit louder, feeling the freedom to stand when everyone else is sitting. I mean, that's kind of weird, isn't it? And we say, 'I don't want to look weird.'
"I'm not saying let's get all wild in here -- maybe I am, I don't know -- but what I'm advocating here is that we not buy into this sense that I'm going to just respond to the Lord according to what's acceptable, but rather, I want to respond to the Lord according to how He's leading me, and if that means taking a risk and drawing people's looks or such, then maybe I need to take a risk."
