The ultimate purpose of relationships is to represent God to each other so His love can be seen in tangible ways. The only way this can be done is if God changes our heart. We must look to Him to complete us and not to another human. Then, we must carefully guard our hearts because our outward actions come from our inward motives. Finally, we must recognize the difference between using another person to gratify our selfish desires and truly laying down our own interests for the sake of another (true, godly love).
