For Lynn... We deliberately limit attendance in Point Leader sessions to 45 to encourage high interaction between the leader and participants. Bill Donahue's session sold out quickly and we persuaded him to do a second. Bill Willits was already doing two sessions... so this was not possible with him.

On a related issue, we also do not offer Point Leader sessions on CD because they are so highly interactive... lots of exercises and Q&A... that they make lousy listening.

Scott McKnight's scripture-based treatment of being missional provided a wealth of material that I'll be studying over the next few months [Disciple Making in Missional Cmmunities]. This was applicable not only to small group experience but to all disciples who are discipling others to make disciples.

I've appreciated the opportunities to hear about practical approaches and the experiences of others and expect to benefit from them.

But I'm thankful to have Scott's notes from his exploration of Jesus' approach. He highlighted several blindspots in my own traditional thinking and I expect others found some as well. I expect I'll be drawing on this frequently in the coming years.

Bill's '6 emerging...' session was great. most practically, point 6 on the transition from coaching 'check-up' sessions to coaching conversations. Anyone utilize these ideas to help burned out coaches deal with non-responsive group leaders already?

Dr. B's session on Biblical Community was thorough, engaging, & distressing. How has the church strayed so far from oneness? Fav quote, 'The church is community or it is not the church.'

Russ Robinson's Five Things that Sidetrack Point Leaders was great! I love Russ's passion, wisdom, and authenticity. He speaks from so much experience, and his love for community is contagious. I left with very practical tools for evaluating my own leadership. And I've got a bunch of ideas for training our leaders at our next leadership retreat.

I really appreciate the way that Russ talked about the importance of our theological framework for community and encouraged us to lead from a Biblically-rooted vision.

I am really disappointed that Developing Leaders That Actually Lead Well was not offered either in a larger room or more than one session because I was not able to register for it.
